MATERIALS
Industrial roll covering guide
Neoprene
Hardness 20-90.
Excellent tensile strength, good cut resistant, low compression set. Generally use for conveyer pulley, embossing, tannery.
Nitrile/NBR
Hardness 20-98.
Superior to most polymers for resistance to oil, heat condition until to 120 degree celsius. Fair ozone resistant, good abrasive reistant. Excellent for general applications like textile rolls, conveyer roll, impression and transfer roll.
EPDM
Hardness 40-80.
Excellent resistance to keystones and acetates, poor in aromatic solvents, good heat resistant to 160 degree celsius. excellent ozone resistance. Generally used PVC embossing rolls, lamination rolls.
Butyl
Hardness 40-70.
Similar with EPDM, has excellent ozone resistance and oxidation. But has very poor rebound properties.
Silicone
Hardness 40-80.
Has resistant to extreme environment and temperature from -05 to 300 degree celsius. Excellent for high heat application like lamination, sealer. But has a poor abrasive resistant.
Polyurethane
Hardness 15-40.
Has good abrasion and cut resistance. Use for coating rolls used in coil coating, metal decorating, varnishing. Good resistance to aromatic solvents, keytones and alcohols.
